Maison d'ama
The building

La Maison d’Ama, founded by Justine Giovannetti, is a building covering over 500 m², converted from a former commercial property that had been closed for several years. The project transformed this space into a place entirely dedicated to women, offering individual and group counselling, workshops, conferences and support programmes for the various stages of life. The aim was to create a welcoming, intimate and functional environment, while maintaining the character and aesthetics of the original building.

Challenge

The project presented several significant challenges. The first was to make such a large space welcoming, transforming an old commercial building into a warm and intimate space.
At the same time, the HVAC systems had to be extremely quiet, as they would be operating in sensitive environments such as therapy consultations and sessions dedicated to newborns. It was also necessary to ensure a rapid increase in temperature when required and to maintain constant comfort in larger areas, such as the 100 m² open atrium, without altering the interior or exterior aesthetics of the building.
The combination of technical, aesthetic and human comfort requirements therefore called for innovative and detail-oriented solutions.

Solution

To meet these requirements, Benoît Bigot Électricité Climatisation adopted a system solution that includes a 40 kW Clivet VRF MSAN8 outdoor unit, connected to 14 Clivet wall-mounted indoor units, selected for their quiet and discreet operation. The configuration of the systems has been optimized to ensure thermal stability even in large-volume areas, such as the lobby, and rapid responsiveness to meet the heating or cooling needs of the spaces intended for newborns.

Results

The end result is an environment that combines functionality, aesthetics and comfort. Despite the size of the building, Maison d'Ama now offers a warm, intimate, and welcoming atmosphere. The systems operate in total silence, allowing consultations and workshops to take place without any interference. The aesthetic integration is perfect: the indoor units do not disturb the harmony of the spaces, and the lobby maintains a stable and comfortable temperature at all times. Thanks to the thermal responsiveness of the system, each room can be quickly adjusted as needed, ensuring comfort even during periods of peak use. The project has therefore achieved its goal of transforming an industrial building into a human, welcoming, and functional space, contributing to the well-being of women and creating an example of technical and design excellence.
