In the summer of 2024, the Herrlein company in Würzburg replaced the old heating system, consisting of Night Storage Heaters, with a modern air-water heat pump.
The SPHERA EVO 2.0 heat pump system made it possible not only to renovate the heating system, but also to improve domestic hot water production.
The challenge:
The owner's requirement was to heat the building and produce domestic hot water for two people.
Besides saving on energy costs, the owner wanted to improve the ecological footprint of his house.
In addition, he wanted to integrate the existing photovoltaic system with a storage battery with the heating system.
To meet the owner's requirements, a SPHERA EVO 2.0 heat pump with 190 litre domestic hot water storage was installed.
The entire system was installed in two days and put into operation on the third day.
The results
By replacing the old heating system with the SPHERA EVO 2.0 heat pump, consumption was significantly reduced. Thanks to the integration of the heat pump with the existing photovoltaic and storage system, it was possible to further increase the efficiency of the system and utilise the electrical energy produced and stored in excess during the summer for the production of domestic hot water.
The total estimated saving is 65-70%.
