Ca’ Apollonio is a sustainable boutique hotel nestled in the Veneto foothills, created from the renovation of a historic building and the construction of a new wing using X-Lam technology. The structure combines high-level hospitality, architecture that respects the local area and organic farming. 

The jury of the CasaClima Award 2025 awarded this structure the Cubo d'Oro Award as the best CasaClima-certified Clima Hotel in Italy, an award that adds to the one received in 2024 from the jury of the KNX Award as the best “smart building” in Italy in the hospitality section.
 

Building

The structure comprises a restored historic villa with internal insulation dedicated to the preservation of the original architectural elements and a modern building constructed using X-Lam dry technology. 
The complex houses ten rooms, a spa, a wellness area and a fitness centre, all set in 18 hectares of organic farmland, emphasising the sustainable vision of the project.

The Challenge

The redevelopment required an HVAC system capable of integrating seamlessly into two buildings with very different construction characteristics, while ensuring high comfort, quietness, air quality and low energy consumption. The goal was to meet the rigorous energy and environmental standards required by the CasaClima Hotel protocol without compromising the aesthetics and functionality of the rooms.

The Solution 

To meet these requirements, Clivet supplied a highly flexible VRF system sized to ensure consistent comfort throughout the facility. The different types of indoor units allow precise control of thermo-hygrometric comfort, while the air renewal units with active thermodynamic recovery ensure excellent air quality all year round.
The solution was integrated with the hotel's management systems, allowing for coordinated and optimised operation, contributing significantly to reducing consumption and achieving sustainability goals.

Results

Also thanks to Clivet systems, Ca' Apollonio Heritage has achieved a level of energy efficiency and self-sufficiency recognised by the CasaClima Hotel certification, which comprehensively assesses the sustainability of accommodation facilities.
The air conditioning system has ensured efficient and flexible management of thermal loads, guaranteeing constant comfort and high indoor air quality.
The intervention has contributed to the building's sustainability, which stands out for its reduction in climate-changing gas emissions, rational management of the water cycle, choice of low environmental impact materials and in-depth study of acoustic and lighting comfort, with particular attention to the rooms.
All these elements contribute to creating a harmonious environment for guests that is also environmentally friendly, confirming the validity of the solutions adopted.
