After Milanello, the PUMA House of Football and San Siro, Clivet comfort and well-being also arrive at Casa Milan, the official headquarters of AC Milan.

comfort and well-being also arrive at Casa Milan, the official headquarters of AC Milan
The building

Casa Milan, the official headquarters and beating heart of AC Milan, is a modern, multifunctional building located in the dynamic Portello area of Milan. Opened in 2014, it is a reference point for the Club and its fans. In addition to housing the Rossoneri Club's executive and administrative offices, Casa Milan includes the Mondo Milan Museum, which tells the Club's history through trophies won, historical memorabilia and technologies that make the visit interactive, an AC Milan Store where official products can be purchased, a Bistro/Restaurant and a ticket office. The building has 4 floors above ground and 2 basements, with a walkable area of about 3,000 m² for offices, and a total area that includes other public and service areas.

The challenge

In 2025, AC Milan started a project to modernise its HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) and domestic hot water (DHW) systems for Casa Milan. The primary objective was to replace the existing system with a more energy-efficient solution that would be more economically and environmentally sustainable, while at the same time providing superior climatic comfort for all employees, visitors and staff.

The solution

In order to achieve the objectives, Clivet's state-of-the-art solutions were installed:

  • Simultaneous Heating, Cooling (4 Pipes): three SCREWLine4-i (WDAN-iK4 MF) air-cooled multifunctional heat pumps were installed. These units were chosen for their ability to meet the simultaneous demand for hot and chilled water, managing the variable needs of a modern building such as Casa Milan, where several areas may require simultaneous heating and cooling.
  • Domestic Hot Water (DHW) Production: for the production of domestic hot water, 2 EDGE EVO 2.0 EXC heat pumps have been installed. These units use inverter technology and an environmentally friendly R32 refrigerant, ensuring high efficiency and reduced environmental impact.

The results

The installation of Clivet heat pumps has enabled Casa Milan to:

  • Improve energy efficiency: b reducing energy consumption for heating, cooling and DHW production.
  • Increase sustainability: both economically, thanks to savings on operating costs, and environmentally, thanks to the use of low-GWP refrigerants and energy recovery.
  • Optimise environmental comfort: by providing precise and constant temperature and humidity control, ensuring a more pleasant working environment for AC Milan employees.
  • Simplify the system: by reducing the complexity of systems and the space required for equipment.

This project is a concrete example of how advanced multifunctional heat pump technologies can help create more sustainable, efficient and comfortable buildings.

Features and Benefits of Clivet's Solutions

Multifunctional Heat Pumps SCREWLine4-i (WDAN-iK4 MF):

  • Low GWP Refrigerant: they use R513A refrigerant, characterised by a low Global Warming Potential (GWP), in line with sustainability goals.
  • Screw Compressors with Inverter: inverter technology allows precise and dynamic power regulation, adapting perfectly to variable heating and cooling loads and maximising energy efficiency.
  • Simultaneous Production on 4 Pipes: ideal for buildings with simultaneous opposing loads, these units supply hot and chilled water simultaneously, simplifying the installation and replacing the need for separate boilers and chillers.
  • Integrated Energy Recovery: the thermal energy that would normally be dissipated during chilled water production is recovered free of charge to produce hot water. This process greatly increases the overall efficiency of the system, turning what would be an energy loss into a gain.
  • Structural and Economic Advantages: the multifunctional solution reduces the equipment footprint, simplifies the hydraulic circuit and allows for faster and cheaper installation and maintenance than conventional systems.
  • Efficiency under Variable Loads: the operating logic ensures maximum energy efficiency even under variable heating and cooling loads, a typical condition in modern buildings.
