Libeskind Tower, also known as Il Curvo, is a skyscraper under construction, in the new CityLife district of Milan: it will reach a height of 175 meters with 28 floors and will become, from 2020, the new PwC Italy office building in Milan. The project was carried out with parametric software and in compliance with the highest international standards in terms of energy efficiency, with a strict control of the environmental parameters and of the solar radiation for each floor.

Torre Libeskind - system

The air conditioning system

The project foresees a maximum crowding of 2,716 people.

Comfort and air quality of this prestigious installation are ensured by 3 Clivet centrifugal chillers controlled by inverter to modulate their capacity according to the water temperature in order to guarantee maximum comfort with the lowest energy consumption and by 8 air handling units in two sections with double enthalpy rotary recuperator AQX by Clivet.

The system is completed with an evaporative tower serving the chillers, while the transfer of heat and cold is entrusted to chilled beams and fan coils.

The main technical rooms for the thermo-mechanical systems are located at:

  • Second basement floor: refrigeration unit, room for input of remote heating, pump rooms, water station, room for input of ground water
  • First basement floor: UTA lobby and conference room, fire service head quarter
