Agreement formally adopted by the 195 nations attending the United Nations Conference on Climate in Paris.

The key points of the new pact:

  • Limiting global warming to "well below 2°C above pre-industrial levels" and "pursue efforts" to limit the temperature increase to 1.5°C.

  • Mobilizing 100 billion $ per year until 2020 for countries in the developing world.

  • Emissions: Every country in the world must set out its plans to avert climate change every five years. Countries should reach a "global peaking of greenhouse gas emissions" as soon as possible and "achieve a balance between anthropogenic emissions by sources and removals by sinks of greenhouse gases in the second half of this century".
