The challenge was to ensure thermal comfort in the school's shooting range and ensure high air quality, while ensuring energy savings to keep operating costs under control.
The solution
The air conditioning system is based on the combination of a glycol water energy recovery system, a gas hot air generator and an adiabatic cooling system.
It is a system that uses the evaporating capacity of water to cool the air, eliminating heat rejection to the outside.
The air renewal, necessary to ensure the comfort and health of instructors and students, is guaranteed by an AQX air handling unit with an air flow rate of 72,000 m3/hour (8 meters wide and nearly 7 meters long) combined with a wall of 8 fans.
This combination makes it possible to provide good homogeneity of the air flow, guaranteeing an excellent heat exchange on the exchangers, ensuring redundancy, and reducing the consumption of electrical energy.
The results
The chosen system ensures efficiency and low management costs all over the year throughout the life cycle. The needs of comfort and air quality have also been completely satisfied.
