System description

The four-pipe system allows even opposite needs to be met at the same time in areas that differ in use, exposure or period of use.

A system of refrigerators equipped with twin-screw compressors using the ecological coolant R134a produce the cooling energy. They are optimised for working in reduced stepping and with synergic management of the entire master-slave type system.

The type of material, construction and maintenance procedures make air treatment units that serve the common areas and high technology zones suitable for the health environment.

The Zephir units located on the various floors are equipped with incorporated water coils with modulating adjustment and supply the primary air necessary for the cold beams used in the wards to operate correctly.

System description

Thanks to its compactness and consequent homogeneity of the loads, the building is served by a two-pipe system.

The basic heating and cooling energy is produced by a hydronic heat pump using the ecological coolant R410A, with very high efficiency when working on partial load.

Distribution depends on the type of room served: the operating rooms have air treatment units for hospital use, the outpatient's department uses ductable terminal units whereas offices and common areas are assigned to fan coils and boxes.

The Zephir units supply the necessary air renewal with high energy efficiency thanks to the active incorporated thermodynamic recovery. In the mid season period they reduce the external air load and supply further active capacity on the room load.

System description

The presence of groundwater makes the use of a geothermal system using a water-water heat pump for producing heating or cooling energy advantageous. The modulating valve source side limits water consumption and stabilises the operation of the generator.

Thanks to reduced crowding, distribution comes about through radiant panels located on the ceiling and supported by a fresh air unit to decrease sensible loads and above latent loads induced by fresh air.
