System description

The system solution foresees the use of a unit (PdC) for producing cool water or hot water (according to the season of use) with which to power the terminal units for each room. It is therefore possible to cool or heat the rooms throughout the year.

The primary air for the bedrooms is treated by one unit and then distributed through ducts.

The heat pump is set up to recover heat from condensation during use in the cold: heat thus obtained is used to warm up the hot running water.
 


Advantages of the solution

- using SPINCHILLER guarantees higher efficiency than traditional full load units. If the structure is partially occupied, which is a common situation in hotels, units working with partial loads can reach yield values that are even double (load less than 50%)

- When functioning as chillers, condensation heat is recovered by means of a dedicated plate exchanger: consequently there is considerable energy and cost saving, if this energy is used for producing hot running water for the hotel

System description

The 4 pipe system allows opposing requirements to be met contemporarily such as cooling rooms where it is requested and others which need to be heated due to different exposure.

2 units are dedicated to each floor to treat primary air that is sent inside the rooms through ducts. The cooling unit is set to recover heat from condensation: heat thus obtained can be considered as thermal integration for producing hot running water.

System description

The appropriate composition of several refrigerator units in the water cooled heat pump version allows hot and cold water to be supplied to individual users in the hotel at the same time.

The units are the super-silenced sound version: the insonorisation of the compressor compartment guarantees that the units are as silent as possible. In the rooms the room terminals are represented by cold beams powered by cold or hot water and primary air. The latter is produced by a dedicated unit.

System description

The room air conditioning is assigned to horizontal units for internal installation which are powered by loop water.

In order to dispose of excess heat from the loop, when the main operation of the connected units is cold a dry cooler is used: its use is suited to applications with not particularly severe summer climates such as those of Northern Europe. When, however, it is appropriate to bring the loop water temperature which tends to drop below the lower limit back up, high efficiency boilers are used.

Every floor has a unit for treating primary air to be sent into the rooms through ducts.


Advantages of the solution

- the water loop circuit which contemporarily acts as a cold and hot source, is perfectly adapted to the requirements of the building which requires cooling and heating in the rooms area at the same time. Any excess heat (usually during the summer) is disposed of using a chiller that does not require the use of water to work, thus eliminating problems linked to the development of biological organisms such as Legionnaire's disease

System description

The loop powers the water-water units connected to it which, in turn, supply cold or hot water to the 2 pipe hydronic units located inside the rooms.

Primary air is treated by a dedicated unit and sent inside the rooms through a duct network.


Advantages of the solution

- the system exploits a source available in nature: water taken from a well. This gives the undisputed advantage both of saving on initial purchase costs and installation and the successive running of the system and the heating and cooling plants for air conditioning

- the closed loop which powers the heat pump has a variable flow rate: the pumping system is formed by inverter pumps which allow their speed to be varied according to the effectively required loads with consistent reductions in electricity consumption

- ZEPHIR, the fresh air unit with energy recovery from expelled air flow, works on treating primary air for a certain group of rooms. System description

The system solution foresees the use of a roof-top unit which carries out complete treatment for air conditioning the restaurant room.

The unit cools or heats and purifies the air in the room and also guarantees the correct renewal of outside air. This is characterised by a double ventilating section (supply and expulsion). The energy recovery foreseen by law takes place by exploiting the energy contained in the flow of air expelled from the restaurant: the latter, sent to the external coil, improves its average temperature and consequently the overall efficiency of the refrigeration circuit.


Advantages of the solution

- the system uses the innovative "asymmetric" circuit setup with Scroll compressors: the electronic control of the units is able to optimise the available resources depending on the effective energy requirement, stepping the operation of the compressors themselves Apart from obtaining consistent energy savings, temperature swings in the supplied air which cause discomfort to clients are limited

- maximum environmental comfort is ensured by using a packaged unit which is fully independent. Compared to a system including an air treatment unit, installation is very simplified - the unit is not powered by water and thereby there are not plumbing networks

System description

This room is characterised by very variable crowding and discontinuous use. The requirements of this area thereby differ considerably from the rest of the hotel structure. The independent packaged unit foreseen was specifically developed to vary the supplied cooling or heating capacity and the quantity of fresh air to be ensured according to the effective number of people in the room. The unit was designed to treat a percentage of outside air equal to 80% of the supplied flow.


Advantages of the solution

- the unit is equipped with a probe which measures the percentage of CO2 in the room air intake. It allows the unit to adjust the outside air renewal in order to adapt it to the actual number of people in the room, allowing high air quality to be maintained therein without wasted energy

- with step load operation (a condition that occurs in the normal running of this application), the unit guarantees particularly high energy efficiency levels. Therefore there is a reduction in costs pertaining to energy consumption and the overall running of the system

- to emphasize the system's features of silence, silencers are mounted on the intake channel made of specially studied sound absorbent material

- the possibility of adjusting the thermo-hygrometric parameters such as temperature and humidity according to real needs allows management costs to be notably contained

System description

The packaged system which cools the two main areas (restaurant and kitchen area) consists in two dedicated units, heat pump version.

The unit for the room cools or heats and purifies the air in the room and guarantees correct renewal of outside air. The energy recovery foreseen by law takes place by exploiting the energy contained in the flow of air expelled from the restaurant: the latter, sent to the external coil, improves its average temperature and consequently the overall efficiency of the refrigeration circuit.

The unit dedicated to the kitchen is the full outside air type. It operates continuously for the whole time the area is used. The emitted outside air is such as to compensate the air extracted by the hoods (not compensated).


Advantages of the solution

- the units are characterised by completely automatic operation; they are inspected beforehand and undergo factory tests so, once placed in position, they only require electrical and air duct connection. Their placement on the roof of the building is easy because of their compact layout: they can be "rotated" according to technical and architectonic necessity in order to simplify the arrangement of ducting, reserving the correct technical spaces for routine maintenance

- the system uses the innovate "asymmetric" circuit layout with Scroll compressors: the electronic control of the unit is able to optimise available resources according to the real energy requirement, stepping the operation of the compressors themselves.
